Licensure supervision

In compliance with the regulations set forth by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Counsel: Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners, I provide supervision tailored to the requirements for LMSWs seeking to advance to their LCSW.

As per the guidelines, LMSWs are mandated to engage in supervision for a minimum of 4 hours per month. To facilitate this, I offer a structured approach, comprising two-hour group sessions held twice a month, supplemented by individual one-hour sessions upon request.

Supervision for LMSWs:
Guiding Your Path to LCSW Licensure

These sessions are designed to provide comprehensive support and guidance as you navigate the complexities of clinical social work practice. Over the course of the supervision period, LMSWs are expected to accumulate a total of 100 supervision hours within a timeframe of no less than 24 months and no more than 48 months.

Additionally, to qualify for the licensing exam, LMSWs must have completed a minimum of 3,000 total work hours, a requirement fulfilled upon submission of the final paperwork to the board.

Eligibility Criteria & Supplemental Plans

Your workplace should provide opportunities for assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health concerns according to the DSM-V criteria. Meeting this criterion renders you eligible for LCSW supervision. However, if your current position doesn’t fulfill this requirement, you’ll need to develop a supplemental plan.

This plan entails dedicating a minimum of 4 hours per week to clinical work, enabling you to assess, diagnose, and treat clients effectively.
